Emergency Float

As an Emergency Float, you are responsible for working in any of our homes where a staff person is needed. Emergency Float staff receives 24 hours' notice of their schedule, get one weekend off a month, and are Empowerment's most flexible employees. As with the Direct Care Professional position, Emergency Floats are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and helping them to meet their personal goals. You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care, meals, transportation, and medical support needs. You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities.

House Manager

The House Manager (HM) is a position that manages and maintains all aspects of the group home. The HM's responsibilities include supervising and scheduling the staff in the home (typically 6-10 people). They also managing the budget, make and take residents to medical and dental appointments. HM's also interact with parents, medical, and county professionals and maintain the house and grounds. They work direct care and do administrative work (about 40-50 hours per week total). HM's make sure staff and the house meet licensing requirements and ensure all shifts are covered.
